GAME ON - YOU NAME IT

I was tagged by the wonderful Bibi @ Bibi’s Book Blog to do this awesome tag, thanks again, Bibi! You should definitely check out her page, I love reading her reviews and get heaps of books to add to my TBR from her. Plus, her tag posts are life. Oh and if you’re not already following her: what are you waiting for?!

RULES:

  • Thank the nominator.
  • Answer 16 of the 19 questions.
  • Replace the 3 that you didn’t answer.
  • Q20 and Q14 must always remain intact.

ARE YOU CURRENTLY READING A BOOK, IF SO WHAT IS IT?

I’m currently reading a few books! Taming Him (Bishop Brothers #1) by Kennedy Fox and Shadow and Bone by Leigh Bardugo. I’ve been in more of a contemporary romance mood recently.

TOAST OR CEREAL?

Toast because Nutella. So much Nutella. Always Nutella.

CHOICE WEAPON FOR SURVIVAL DURING THE ZOMBIE INVASION?

A Katana for sure, maybe I’ll even get style points for flashy footwork. But who am I kidding, I’ll probably trip on my own two feet before anything can happen.

HORROR OR COMEDY FILMS

Skip!

SKINNY DIPPING OR MUD WRESTLING?

Mud wrestling, I am down for that! I don’t think I could do skinny dipping ever, not with my insecurity issues.

WHAT IS THE LAST BOOK THAT MADE YOU CRY AND WHY?

Until Susan by C.P. Smith, oh gosh. If you guys haven’t read Aurora Rose Reynolds’ “Until” series, go! Now! Until Susan was a part of her Kindle Worlds: Happily Ever Alpha and all the books are so so good!

GOING TO THE PARTY OR THE LIBRARY WHAT’S YOUR PREFERENCE?

Hmm, I do love music and dancing, but the library would most definitely be my first preference.

WHAT IS YOUR FAVOURITE TIPPLE?

Skip!

IF YOU COULD CHOOSE ONE ANIMAL TO SHAPE-SHIFT INTO WHAT WOULD IT BE?

A snow leopard.

IF YOU COULD TIME TRAVEL ANYWHERE, WHERE WOULD YOU GO?

I’d most definitely go back to the year after I graduated high school. I would have chosen a completely different university degree, preferably something to do with writing, or publishing, or editing. I’m boring, I know.

WHAT WERE YOU LIKE AS A CHILD?

I was mostly quiet, I loved reading and spending time outdoors. Not much has changed but I now love spending time indoors haha. When you live in the tropics, heat kills.

YOU’VE BEEN GRANTED 24 HOURS TO HAVE A PSYCHIC ABILITY OF YOUR CHOOSING (CONSEQUENCE FREE), WHAT ABILITY WOULD YOU HAVE AND WHAT WOULD YOU DO WITH IT?

Telekinesis would be pretty sick, I could move things without even touching them! But seriously, I would like to have clairesentience, and I would attempt to help people going through a hard time.

WHAT’S THE FIRST SENTENCE OF THE BOOK THAT’S CLOSEST TO YOU RIGHT NOW?

“My parlor smelled of linseed oil and spike lavender, and a dab of lead tin yellow glistened on my canvas.”

The sentence is from An Enchantment of Ravens by Margaret Rogerson, it’s the closest book to my at the moment, though I haven’t started reading it yet 😛

WHICH 3 QUESTIONS WILL YOU BE DELETING TO ADD YOUR OWN IN?

4, 8, & 15

IF SOMEONE WANTED TO MAKE A MOVIE ABOUT YOUR FAMILY, WHO WOULD YOU WANT TO PORTRAY YOURSELF, YOUR PARENTS AND YOUR SIBLINGS?

Skip!

OK, YOU ARE GOING TO BE SHIPWRECKED ON AN ISLAND THAT HAS FOOD AND WATER, WHAT THREE ITEMS WOULD YOU NEED TO HAVE WITH YOU?

A pen, notebook, and a blanket. A girl needs to write and doodle/draw with warm feet at night (If I can even see what I’m doing) 😛

IF YOU MET A GENIE, WHAT WOULD YOUR THREE WISHES BE? – AND YOU CAN’T WISH FOR MORE WISHES.

Well this is a hard question… Um, my first wish would most likely go to my family and friends and making sure they’re all healthy and happy. The second one would be for a successful career, and with my last wish, I’d wish for the ability to travel the world.

WHAT’S YOUR DREAM JOB?

To work at a publishing house, or to write full time. Anything and everything to do with books, really!

WHAT MUSIC IS CURRENTLY YOUR FAVOURITE? *PROVIDE LINK*

Out of all the questions, I think this is the hardest for me! I’m going to have to go with… Somebody – The Chainsmokers ft. Drew Love 🙂

THE THREE BLOGGERS YOU ARE NOMINATING ARE?

I’m not sure if any of these bloggers have done this tag, but I’m nominating Erin @ Erin’s Bookish Fave’s, Purple Manatees, and Amy @ Bookish Heights ❤ Oh, and anybody else who feels like doing a tag!

Question 4, 8 & 15 are re-written with my questions:

Can’t Wait Wednesday: I Can’t Wait For Kingdom of Ash (Throne of Glass #7) by Sarah J. Maas

Can't Wait Wednesday

Can’t-Wait Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Tressa at Wishful Endings, to spotlight and discuss the books that we’re excited about and have yet to read. The idea is based on Waiting on Wednesday, which was previously hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine.

This pick might be a little mainstream and but I just can’t contain my excitement any longer. I need this book, I need it now! Yes, we got a massive book about Chaol and Nesryn last year (which I enjoyed, by the way) but the ending of Empire of Storms left me in pieces, so much so, I couldn’t pick up another book for the longest time. This is, hands down, what I am most excited for this year.

Kingdom of AshKingdom of Ash

Series: Throne of Glass

Author: Sarah J. Maas

Genre: New Adult/Young Adult, Fantasy

Release Date: 23rd October 2018

Publisher: Bloomsbury YA

Summary

Years in the making, Sarah J. Maas’s #1 New York Times bestselling Throne of Glass series draws to an epic, unforgettable conclusion. Aelin Galathynius’s journey from slave to king’s assassin to the queen of a once-great kingdom reaches its heart-rending finale as war erupts across her world. . .

Aelin has risked everything to save her people―but at a tremendous cost. Locked within an iron coffin by the Queen of the Fae, Aelin must draw upon her fiery will as she endures months of torture. Aware that yielding to Maeve will doom those she loves keeps her from breaking, though her resolve begins to unravel with each passing day…

With Aelin captured, Aedion and Lysandra remain the last line of defense to protect Terrasen from utter destruction. Yet they soon realize that the many allies they’ve gathered to battle Erawan’s hordes might not be enough to save them. Scattered across the continent and racing against time, Chaol, Manon, and Dorian are forced to forge their own paths to meet their fates. Hanging in the balance is any hope of salvation―and a better world.

And across the sea, his companions unwavering beside him, Rowan hunts to find his captured wife and queen―before she is lost to him forever.

As the threads of fate weave together at last, all must fight, if they are to have a chance at a future. Some bonds will grow even deeper, while others will be severed forever in the explosive final chapter of the Throne of Glass series.

I could go on and on about this book, no, this series, wait no, actually anything written by Sarah J. Maas – but I’ll spare you from my fangirling. Is anybody else as excited as I am for this book!? What is your most anticipated release for 2018?

Much love,

Genre: Contemporary, New Adult, Romance, Thriller

Release Date: 22nd October 2018

Publisher: Crimson Tree Publishing

Summary

Not everyone can get justice the traditional way—that’s where Estlyn Collins comes in. A young lawyer in Santa Monica, her “legal” service, After Twelve, works outside the courtroom to tip the scales when the justice system has failed.

For a price.

Thanks to her powerful underground network, Estlyn’s success rate is stellar, and her inbox stays filled with inquires from the desperate and vengeful. But when one of those names is a ghost from her past seeking vengeance against her, she’s shaken to her core. Off balance and scared to be alone, she makes an impulsive move for a guy. He’s a complication she doesn’t have time for, but it turns out he may also be an unlikely—if unwitting—asset.

Treading the rapidly thinning line between personal and professional, Estlyn pursues her target while outrunning the one on her own back—only to find she may be running into a lot more than she bargained for.

IF SHE WERE BLIND is the first book in the engaging New Adult series AFTER TWELVE by author Laney Wylde. Perfect for fans of the television shows REVENGE, SCANDAL, and VERONICA MARS, the AFTER TWELVE Series is a gritty social-issue drama that delivers steamy romance, intrigue, and the most bittersweet revenge plots. Estlyn’s determination to right every wrong is sure to quench your thirst for justice, yet leave you wanting more.
